Eyebou are an eye care company working in the health innovation space. We’ve developed a range of digital products and technology to make eye care truly accessible, affordable and exceptional in quality. Our mission is to deliver eye care to everyone, at their fingertips, via tele-optometry.

What is the problem?

Suffering is not equal, and as a result a huge percentage of the global population have visual issues, but do not have the privilege of time, or the resources to be able to access the care they need. We know that reduced visual capacity leads to a significantly lower quality of life, affecting academic performance, work productivity, earning potential, social interactions, safety, etc.

What are we doing about it?

We’re working alongside UNICEF, local NGO partners & medical professionals to provide eye care to populations who need it desperately, but may not have the means to access it.

With only an app on a smartphone, trained users can screen populations for reduced visual acuity and amblyopia, strabismus, and gross anterior eye abnormalities. The screening takes only 2 minutes per person, and is optimised for users in areas of low connectivity and resources. The results are then parsed by our Al technology and graded by an optometrist remotely, to indicate which individuals qualify for further assessment of not, saving valuable individual and clinic time and resources.

This data is being utilized to build an AI learning model which grades data to serve a much broader application globally.
